The site is a reading resource: there is no form, no account, no newsletter and no tracking anywhere on it, so the list below is short, and it is complete.

1. Who is responsible
The entity responsible for the handling described here is DONAU LOGISTICS - výroba obalů a balení s.r.o., of Dr. Holubce 763/1, Nové Dvory, 674 01 Třebíč, Czech Republic, company number 29318483, VAT number CZ29318483. Correspondence about this policy goes to info@steadyscope.online or to the postal address above.
2. The framework applied
Personal information connected with this site is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. The principles themselves are published by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles. Where this policy refers to a numbered principle, that is the document it refers to.
3. What this policy covers
This policy applies to the website steadyscope.online and to nothing else. Following a link from this site takes you to a website operated by someone else, including the affiliate link to the Norton AntiVirus Plus vendor at sungoclick.space, and those sites have their own privacy policies which govern what they do. Reading this policy tells you nothing about theirs.
4. Everything that is collected
There are three categories, and there is no fourth.
- Access logs. Our hosting provider records each request made to the site. A log entry contains your IP address, the date and time, the address of the page requested, the referring page where your browser sends one, and the user-agent string your browser supplies. This happens for every website in existence and is a function of how the web works, not a choice made by this site.
- Email you send us. If you write to info@steadyscope.online, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message and any attachments. Please do not send health information, financial information, government identifiers or other sensitive details — nothing on this site requires them, and anything of that kind that arrives is deleted as soon as it is not needed to answer you.
- The font request. This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser makes that request directly to Google, which necessarily discloses your IP address to Google along with technical details of the request. That request does not pass through our servers and we receive no information from it.
Beyond those three, nothing is collected. This site has no contact form, no search box, no newsletter sign-up, no account system, no comment section, no quiz and no chat. It sets no cookies and uses no localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB. It runs no analytics package, no advertising tag, no pixel and no third-party script of any kind. No profile is built about you and no cross-site tracking takes place.
5. Reading this site anonymously (APP 2)
You do not have to identify yourself to read anything here, and there is no way to do so even if you wished to. If you write to us, you may use a pseudonymous email address and we will reply to it. The single exception is a request for access to or correction of personal information: to answer one of those we need enough information to be confident we are dealing with the right person's records, which in practice means replying from the address that sent the original correspondence.
Part two — what happens to it
6. Why each category is held
Access logs are used to keep the site available and to investigate problems: identifying automated abuse, understanding an outage, and diagnosing a fault reported by a reader. Email is used to read and answer your message, and for nothing else. The font request exists so that the page displays in the typeface it was designed in.
7. How long each category is kept
Access logs are kept for 30 days and are then deleted or overwritten by our hosting provider. Email is kept for 24 months after the last message in the conversation, unless it needs to be retained longer because it relates to a legal claim, in which case it is kept until that matter is concluded. Information held by Google as a result of the font request is subject to Google's own retention practices, which DONAU LOGISTICS - výroba obalů a balení s.r.o. does not control and cannot shorten; Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Use and disclosure (APP 6)
Each category is used only for the purpose listed above. Personal information connected with this site is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone for marketing purposes, by us or by anyone acting for us. It is disclosed to a law enforcement body, court or regulator only where a law requires it or where there is a legal obligation to do so, and only to the extent required.
9. Direct marketing (APP 7)
There is no direct marketing. There is no mailing list, no newsletter and no promotional email of any kind. Writing to us about an article does not add you to anything, because there is nothing to be added to. If you write to us, you will receive a reply to your message and no further contact.
10. Who receives the information
Three recipients, matching the three categories: our hosting provider, which holds the access logs; our email service provider, which holds the mailbox; and Google, which receives the font request directly from your browser. There are no others — no analytics company, no advertising network, no data broker and no affiliate partner receives personal information from this site.
11. Disclosure outside Australia (APP 8)
Our hosting provider and our email service provider may store or process information on servers outside Australia, including in countries where DONAU LOGISTICS - výroba obalů a balení s.r.o. is established and operates, namely the Czech Republic and elsewhere in the European Union. Google may process the font request in the United States and in other countries where it operates infrastructure. Where information is handled outside Australia it is subject to the laws of the place where it is handled, which may differ from Australian law.
12. Affiliate links
Some links on this site are paid affiliate links. Following one takes you away from steadyscope.online to a site operated by the Norton AntiVirus Plus vendor by way of the affiliate network that operates the link. Those parties may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains in order to record that the referral came from this site, under their own privacy policies rather than this one. DONAU LOGISTICS - výroba obalů a balení s.r.o. receives commission reports from the network. Those reports are used solely to reconcile payments, and we do not request, and do not want, information that would identify an individual reader.
13. Security (APP 11)
The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the server is encrypted. There is no database behind the site and no submission of any kind is stored on it, which removes the most common target entirely. The hosting account and the mailbox are accessible only to people working for DONAU LOGISTICS - výroba obalů a balení s.r.o. who need access in order to run the site or answer correspondence, and access is protected by individual credentials. No claim is made here to any certification or standard.
14. Keeping information accurate (APP 10)
The only personal information capable of being inaccurate is what you have told us in an email. If something you have sent is wrong, write and tell us and it will be corrected or deleted, as you prefer.
Part three — your rights
15. Access and correction (APP 12 and APP 13)
You may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected. Write to info@steadyscope.online with "Privacy request" in the subject line, from the address you previously wrote from where possible. There is no charge for making a request. A reply is sent within 30 days. If a request has to be refused — for example because the information requested is not held, or because giving it would reveal someone else's personal information — the reason will be given in writing.
16. Complaints
If you believe personal information has been mishandled, write to info@steadyscope.online setting out the circumstances. Complaints are answered within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner; the process is described at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
17. Data breaches
If there is reason to believe personal information connected with this site has been accessed or disclosed without authorisation, or lost, the matter is assessed promptly. Where the assessment concludes that serious harm to an affected person is likely, the affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner are notified, in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
18. Children
This site is not directed at people under 16. Nothing is collected here that would identify anyone, of any age, and no attempt is made to determine the age of readers because there is no collection to which an age would be relevant.
19. Readers in the European Union, the EEA and the United Kingdom
DONAU LOGISTICS - výroba obalů a balení s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the following applies in addition to the above. The legal basis for keeping access logs and for delivering fonts is legitimate interests — running a secure, functioning website. The legal basis for handling email is taking steps at your request and responding to your enquiry. There is no consent basis, because this site sets no cookies and uses no tracking for which consent would be required.
Subject to the conditions in the applicable law, you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data rectified, to have data erased, to have processing restricted, to receive data in a portable form, and to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests. Requests go to info@steadyscope.online. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority for the publisher's place of establishment is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Czech Republic (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), uoou.gov.cz; readers elsewhere may also complain to the authority in their own country of residence.
20. Changes to this policy
When this policy is revised, the effective date at the top of the page is updated. Where a change materially affects how personal information is handled, a short note describing it is displayed at the top of this page for 30 days from the date of the change. Previous versions are not published, so if you need a copy of the version in force on a particular date, ask and one will be sent.
